General Counsel for Border States Electric

Update:  Position on hold until late 2017.  Interested candidates are still encouraged to contact us with interest.

Evers Legal has been exclusively retained by Border States Electric (www.borderstates.com) to recruit its first General Counsel.  You will manage two junior attorneys, report to the CEO, and have full strategic responsibility for running the legal function.

Border States (founded in 1952) is a growing leading provider of supplies, materials management solutions, and delivery and logistics expertise to tens of thousands of customers across diverse industries.  Border States is 100 percent employee-owned (over 2,200 employees) with locations throughout the country.

This position will require (fully covered) relocation to our client’s HQ in Fargo, North Dakota.  This is an opportunity to make a great career move and enjoy the combination of outstanding compensation with a low cost of living geography.

We seek candidates who are 10+ years out of law school, with at least some major law firm teeth cutting experience, preferably with expertise in M&A and corporate law generally.  We are open to individuals coming from established law departments (this could be a nice step up move for an AGC or DGC with a larger company, for example), or directly from a firm.

For a complete job description and more information, please email mike@everslegal.com.  Evers Legal is handling this search exclusively,  so please do not make attempts to send resumes directly to the client, as they will be routed to us.  If you are a search firm reading this and have a candidate in mind, please contact Mike Evers for discussion.  We are open to referral fees and always act in our client’s best interest.  Do not send a candidate resume with a fee split expectation, however, in advance of talking with Mike.
