Robyn is a graduate of University of Michigan Law school. She began her career with Winston & Strawn for eight years, before moving in-house. From 2014 until starting with Knowles, Robyn held positions of increasing responsibility with Potbelly Sandwich Works.
Evers Legal thanks Knowles Corporation for retaining us to handle this placement.
Ace Hardware (The Helpful Place!) has retained Evers Legal to recruit a Corporate Counsel for a direct hire generalist role with promising career path potential. Supporting daily operations, you will learn the business, interface with internal clients routinely, and work in a collaborate team environment.
Specific “to dos” of the job entail the full range of commercial contracts negotiating and drafting, such as supplier/vendor agreements, real estate, NDAs, marketing, media… and much more.
The winning candidate will have 5 – 8 years of legal experience. Although we tend to favor candidates with some in-house experience, this opportunity is also open to straight-from-law-firm candidates. The critical criteria frankly is culture fit… we want the ego-free attorney who plays well with others, including their colleagues in the law department. Commercial/transactional experience highly preferred. Candidates with primarily litigation oriented backgrounds are unlikely to move forward.
Position location is Ace Hardware headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. Relocation not anticipated. Local candidates preferred. Non-local candidates willing to move at his/her own cost may be considered.
To submit a resume and for more details, please contact Meredith Haydon at email@example.com and 847-475-4222.
Update: Position filled.
Knowles Corporation (NYSE: KN) has engaged Evers Legal on an exclusive basis to handle all sourcing for the following position:
Associate General Counsel & Assistant Corporate Secretary, reporting to the General Counsel and with board level visibility. Ideal candidate will be 10 to 15 years out of law school with experience that includes a focus on SEC public reporting and disclosure. Candidates must have current or past experience working in a corporate law department for a publicly traded company. The winner will be someone who has advised executives and boards on corporate governance best practices.
While this is primarily a securities position, the role includes a healthy dose of interesting M&A work (approx. 20%), some commercial transactions, and some compliance. It can be an ideal position for someone who seeks the kind of resume building role that will lead eventually to a GC opportunity. Or, it can be a long-term and potentially top of career move for an in-house securities attorney who will relish the role.
Compensation on this is very strong, with at-market base and bonus plus an attractive equity component. Local candidates preferred.

This is a newly created position within the company’s Chicago based law department. You will be tasked with proactively auditing the company’s operational compliance needs, drafting policies where needed, and advising the General Counsel. The role is not specific to any one regulatory area, but rather requires a holistic perspective on preventing problems before they occur. As examples, though, operational compliance needs have included export compliance and compliance with EU privacy regulations.
The winner is someone for whom no task is too small (roll up sleeves!), while thinking strategically, issue spotting, and communicating best practices to company leadership.
Our ideal candidate is an attorney who has compliance experience in-house. If interested, please send your resume to email@example.com or call 312-225-1144. Note: Evers Legal has been exclusively retained to handle this opening, so inquiries made directly to Ubiquiti Networks would be routed to us.

Our ideal candidate is a senior associate or junior partner with experience serving the telecommunications or related industries. Candidates with in-house experience will also be considered. You will be the lead IP attorney for Ubiquiti Networks with potential management responsibilities as growth of the function dictates.

Adjunct Counsel is our preferred term of art for contract attorney work. Why? Because we do not handle lower paying document review work, nor do we have a managed services offering. Instead, our assignments in this area are generally off-shoots from our primary service offering: Recruiting exclusively for law departments.
When our corporate clients seek alternative staffing solutions, we are ready. We continually screen experienced candidates who are open to working through our firm in the field (as W2 employees, not independent contractors). Most of our assignments are full-time and on-site with our corporate clients in the greater Chicago area.
The nature of the work ranges, but our most common request is for commercial generalists with in-house experience. At times, we need subject matter experts… employment law, intellectual property, and securities were particularly in demand last year.
We are putting out a general call to attorneys who might be interested in Adjunct Counsel work, but who have not contacted us yet. We seek to continually build our talent pool. Please email email@example.com with your resume or call 312-225-1144 with any questions. Thank you.
Congratulations Ricky Kalra! Ricky has been working long-term via Evers Legal as an Adjunct Counsel with US Foods. We just learned that Ricky will be hired directly by US Foods and we could not be happier for him. He worked hard in a contract role, he was patient, and he is now being rewarded for both.
This marks the 6th time in 2018 that an attorney who started as an Adjunct Counsel via Evers Legal has been hired directly by our law department client. The lingo in our world for this is a temp to perm conversion. We are careful to never promise such an outcome when someone pursues an Adjunct Counsel assignment via Evers Legal. But here is, indeed, more evidence that sometimes it’s a very effective way to get one’s foot in the door.
As a reminder to our clients, we have a singular focus: placing attorneys (and attorneys only) with corporations. We do not handle law firm work. Within this singular focus, however, we do offer two service lines: traditional direct hire search, at the highest General Counsel level to specialized non-managerial level hires, AND on-site assignment placement. For the latter, our attorneys are fairly paid W2 benefits eligible employees, giving you the flexibility to add talent to your law department without adding to your payroll.
Congratulations Ritu Vig for joining SP+ as its new Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. SP+ is a $1B+ publicly traded leader in parking and transportation services, based in Chicago.
Ritu’s background includes senior level in-house positions with R.R. Donnelley & Sons and Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, prior to which she did her BigLaw teeth cutting at Katten Muchin and Dykema Gossett. She holds an MBA from The University of Chicago and a JD from Illinois.
Evers Legal is grateful to SP+ for the opportunity to handle this search.
Evers Legal has been exclusively Retained by Ubiquiti Networks (Nasdaq: UBNT) to recruit an experienced in-house litigation attorney to create and lead a litigation management role, with the stated goal of implementing best practices for outside counsel engagement, litigation cost control, and strategic oversight.
This position will be based in Chicago, reporting to the Chicago based Chief Legal Officer of the company. You will enjoy executive level interaction and have a chance to make a meaningful difference in the company’s bottom-line.
Ubiquiti Networks is a lean business with a laser focus on designing best in class IT products. 80% of the company’s employees are engineers, and the right candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial culture.
The winning candidate will have a track record of implementing litigation best practices and cost controls for a corporate law department. Respectfully, we are not interested for this position in candidates for whom this would be the first in-house move from a law firm. The winner does not need an IT background. We are open to candidates coming from unrelated industries or larger companies. Significant litigation oversight and management is the key criteria.
Interested candidates, please start with an inquiry email or resume send to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
Our client is a publicly traded industry leader based in the Loop. We seek a well rounded employment law attorney to become the Director of Employee Relations. You will report to an executive officer of the company, work closely with internal HR clients, and supervise one junior attorney. Experience must include expertise in a unionized environment… comfortable handling or supervising CBA negotiations, grievance matters, and agency hearings. Your day-to-day will be a mix of union and non-union employment law work.
Position is based in downtown Chicago. We prefer local candidates but will consider relocation for the right candidate. Client name and more details to be provided, of course, in follow-up. If interested, please reach out to Mike Evers at email@example.com or 312-225-1144.
