When Cate Flahardy and I launched eNews in 2014, we hoped the highlight of each issue would be a General Counsel Q&A profile. Looking back 10 years later, I am humbled by the quality and diversity of our profiled GCs. I take great pride in our quarterly contribution to the in-house community.

Of the 40 general counsels profiled (click here for the complete archives), 20 are women and 13 are people of color. We profiled GCs from Fortune 500 companies such as Wal-Mart, Darden Restaurants and ADM. Our GCs come from all industries, including tech (Western Digital), financial (Principal Financial Group), manufacturing (Cummins) and media (Cox Media Group). We have been doing this feature long enough to include two law departments twice: Curt Kramer and Eleanor Cabrere from Navistar; Jason Brown and Elena Stein from Dyson.

Evers Legal placed seven of the GCs profiled at some point in their careers. Sixteen of the 40 companies represented have been Evers Legal clients.

When I invite a general counsel to participate in our Q&A, however, I make it clear that doing business with us is not required. There is absolutely no quid pro quo.

With that in mind, I encourage you to please email me at [email protected] to raise your hand or recommend a GC for profile consideration in 2025.

We are finishing our 10th anniversary year strong. This month’s Q&A features a general counsel who has been nominated this year by Corporate Counsel for its General Counsel of the Year award. And in our upcoming Q4 issue of eNews, for the first time we are featuring a general counsel who is currently on a boat and not working. But I doubt that will last long, as I’m referring to the man I nickname “Mr. GC.” Tom Sabatino has steered the ship at United Airlines, Baxter, Tenneco, Aetna, Schering-Plough, Walgreens, Hertz and, most recently, saved the ship from drowning at Rite Aid.

Thank you to all 40 GCs for trusting us with your story!
